Head-Royce School
Since its inception in 1887, Head-Royce School has stood as a beacon for the development of academic excellence, innovation, and personal growth in students. Nestled in the heart of Oakland, our campus is not just a place of learning; it is a community where students from diverse backgrounds come together to embark upon a transformative educational journey. Each year, our halls resonate with the enthusiasm of our 906 students from kindergarten through 12th grade, each bringing their unique perspectives, dreams, and values to the classroom, united by their shared commitment to intellectual growth and social responsibility. At Head-Royce, we believe that education has the power to unlock the promise and purpose of every student to better the world. Our mission in support of that vision is to develop students of character, intellect, and creativity. This mission drives our unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion—values that are explicitly named and deeply embedded in every aspect of our school culture.
